About Us
99er Cycle Tour
The 99er Cycle Tour, in association with Smile FM, is an annual cycling event that draws passionate riders from across the Western Cape. Known for its challenging yet scenic routes through the Durbanville wine valleys and surrounding farmlands, the race caters to cyclists of all levels.
Now in its 27th year, the 99er has become a must-do on the cycling calendar. It has grown steadily to become the second-largest cycling event in the Western Cape, attracting nearly 5,000 participants each February.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission:
To be the most inclusive cycling event in the region — offering a range of race distances and fostering a strong sense of community among cyclists of all backgrounds and abilities.
Vision:
To be the best-organised cycling event, committed to serving our cyclists, sponsors, and stakeholders with integrity, excellence, and dedication.
The 99er Cycle Tour is proudly organised and hosted by El Shaddai Christian School in Durbanville. More than just a thrilling race, it serves as the school’s primary fundraising initiative — powered by the incredible support of our community.
On race day, over 350 volunteers step up to make the event a success. These include parents, staff, pupils, alumni, and past parents — all playing a vital role in bringing the event to life.
The 99er is a true celebration of community spirit, uniting people around a shared passion for cycling and a meaningful cause.
