Cycle Tour

Thank you to the 4126 cyclists who supported the race this year! This was the 18th time the 99er Cycle Tour took place! So many of you support the 99er every year and we extend a special thank you to you! Congratulations to Waylon Woolcock and Carmen Buchacher on winning the men's and ladies 102km events! Waylon Woolcock also won the coveted King of the Mountain! Congratulations also to the winners in the vets and tandem categories and the winners of the 64km races. The kiddies ride was met with great enthusiasm by 70 young riders aged 3 - 10 years. A big thank you to Engel & Volkers for hosting this fantastic event!

R170 000 worth of prizes, which included a R130 000 bike from Giant Durbanville were given away at the lucky draw! Thank you to our generous sponsors.

Over R19 000 was raised for charity by you, the cyclists, in the form of on-line donations when you entered the race. Thank you for your generosity! In addition, some of the profit of the race will be donated to Partners For Possibility, Inside Out, The ESCS Scholarship Fund and Olympians. We also extend a huge thank you to the City of Cape Town for the work that was done to repair pot holes on Van Schoorsdrif (Old Malmesbury) road between the N7 and Philadelphia. Special thanks to Rentia Stipp from the Kraaifontein roads division, as well as Gilbert Titus and his team from the Kraaifontein depot! This race would not take place but for the more than 350 volunteers in the form of parents, past pupils, staff and pupils from El Shaddai Christian School who organise the race and work as marshals, parking attendants etc. on race day.
